ISSUING
The current issue of payment cards of TAS Link customers in February 2025 increased by 9% compared to February 2024 and by 6% compared to January 2025. The structure of payment systems is dominated by Mastercard with 83% (a significant increase in structure by 28% over the year)
The dynamics of issuers’ transactions in February 2025 almost did not change compared to the same period last year and the previous month
The size of the average check also practically did not change in February 2025 compared to the same period last year, and increased by +4% compared to the previous month
In terms of the number of transactions by type of transactions on issued cards, the dynamics and structure are almost unchanged compared to January 2025: purchases in POS – 35%, purchases in E-com – 20%, P2P – 45%, cash withdrawals – only 0.2%
The geographical structure of issuers’ transactions is almost unchanged from the previous month: 94% of transactions were carried out within Ukraine, respectively, 6% – abroad
The highest value of the average check for issuers’ transactions is observed in P2P – almost 2300 UAH, purchases in E-com and POS are about 800 and 400 UAH, respectively. Monthly dynamics are not very significant
The size of the average check abroad is slightly higher (1415 UAH abroad compared to 1333 UAH in Ukraine). In February 2025, compared to January 2025, we observe a trend towards equalization of these values (dynamics of +2% for domestic check and -6% for check abroad)
87% of issuer transactions fall into three categories: Miscellaneous stores, Retail Outlet Services, and Business Services. Department stores occupy the lion’s share – 58%. The structure of transactions for the month has hardly changed
In the context of MCC, Miscellaneous stores also have a much larger average check: more than 7000 UAH, against 380 UAH in Retail Outlet Services, UAH 1000 – in Business Services, UAH 1500 – in other categories
ACQUIRING
The number of transactions of TAS Link customers in February 2025 increased by +30% compared to February 2024
The size of the average check also increased by 47% year-to-year in February
Purchases in E-com occupy a leading position in the structure of acquiring transactions (49%) and have a significant upward trend: compared to February 2024, these transactions added +5% in the structure. POS purchases also increased from 25% to 34% over the year. P2P transactions show a decline
The size of the average check for all types of transactions has a significant upward trend. The largest average check is recorded among cash withdrawal transactions: 10000 UAH, then P2P – 2000 UAH
78% of acquiring transactions fall into three categories: Professional Services (30%), Miscellaneous stores (24%), and Business Services (23%)
In the context of MCC, Miscellaneous stores have a much higher average bill: about 5000 UAH against 700 UAH in Business Services, UAH 400 – in Professional Services and UAH 1500 – in other categories
E-COMMERCE
The online transactions segment grew by 15% year-to-year in February 2025. In the structure of the number of transactions, the lion’s share belongs to purchases in E-com (75%). The rest of the segments of P2P transfers share approximately the same shares: Card2Card, Card2Account, Account2Card
In February 2025, compared to the same period last year, we see an active increase in the use of wallets: ApplePay – growth from 26% to 34%, G-Pay from 9% to 11%. Accordingly, the share of other methods of card entry decreased over the year from 65% to 55%
